"i would like to make a personal plea to all of you to support this. a monthly coffee morning would help to foster and maintain a community spirit and sense of belonging, it would also continue the outreach beyond the parish." fr. john cornerstones day centre - need for a new parish co-ordinator this manchester based charity is completely funded by donations, sr maria who runs the drop-in centre provides the less and those less fortunate than ourselveswith snacks, meals and items of clothing. for approximately eight years donations of food and toiletries have been made to cornerstone by the congregation of the 11:00 am sunday mass at st. veronica's. this collection for cornerstone was first started by eileen shaw when, ill health prevented her from co-ordinating the collections the role was taken on by peter marsden. over the last eight years or so sr maria and all those at cornerstone have been grateful for the help they have received from the donations made at st. veronica's. peter marsden now feels that it is time for him to step down from being the parish co-ordinator. the role requires someone with transport who can on a regular, but not weekly basis, take any items received from the parish down to cornerstones, based in denmark road manchester(just beyond the university). if anyone is willing to take on this role please speak to fr john. more information can be found at www.cornerstonecds.org.uk sponsorship money for cameo joseph grimshaw completed the wilmslow half marathon in aid of cameo. please hand your sponsorship money to mike gaffey. many thanks. read more...
